Biography

Sherry L. Harbin is a Professor in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry (Honors) from Indiana University in 1987. Following that, she earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1989. Harbin completed her PhD at Purdue University in Veterinary Physiology Pharmacology in 1992. Her research interests encompass a range of topics in biomedical engineering, including Tissue Engineering, Biomaterials, Extracellular Matrix, and Cell-Extracellular Matrix interactions. She is particularly focused on Biomechanics, Mechanotransduction, 3D Culture Systems, as well as Bioimaging and Image Analysis. Over the years, she has contributed significantly to the field and has guided numerous graduate students in their academic endeavors.
