Professor Dr. Shervin Jannesar

Biography

Shervin Jannesar is a Lecturer in Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University, specializing in Biomechanical Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechatronic Systems Engineering from Simon Fraser University, an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. His research interests include injury biomechanics, computational models of injury, tissue mechanics, and finite element analysis (FEA) modeling. Jannesar is involved in developing models to analyze the mechanical properties of spinal cord injuries through innovative approaches and specific finite element models. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals on the biomechanics of spinal cord injuries, providing significant insights into tissue mechanics and injury mechanisms. Jannesar is dedicated to teaching, with interests in capstone projects, static strength materials, control systems, and computer-aided design. He encourages collaboration with students aiming to enhance their academic performance and engagement in research projects. He actively participates in conferences and symposiums related to biomechanics and injury analysis.
