Dr. Shi Xia Liu

Biography

Shi-Xia Liu is an accomplished researcher and leading academic in the field of chemistry at the University of Bern. With extensive experience spanning from her MSc at Lanzhou University, where she completed her doctoral studies under Professor Min-Yu Tan, to a prestigious post-doctoral fellowship at Siegen University, she has developed significant expertise in molecular materials and quantum systems. Over the years, she has held various positions, culminating in her current role as the Head of the WSS research center for molecular quantum systems. Liu's research focuses on the preparation and functionalization of large π-extended conjugates and the development of topological superconductors and qubits. She has also contributed to numerous publications in the field, reflecting her impactful work and dedication to advancing knowledge in molecular (opto)electronics. As a well-regarded academic, she fosters collaborations and innovations in understanding the charge-transfer processes and applications in modern materials science.
