Biography

Shih Chi Weng is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech with extensive experience in environmental engineering. He serves as a Principal Environmental Engineer at Brown Caldwell, where he collaborates with the drinking water team on treatment facility projects, which range from planning and bench pilot testing to process optimization and preliminary design. Before joining Brown Caldwell, Dr. Weng worked as a Scientist at the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources for seven years and was a Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. He also lectured at Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil Engineering. With a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. from Purdue University, Dr. Weng has a decade of academic research training in environmental engineering and has transitioned into the water industry since 2017. His research interests focus on applied research in water and wastewater reuse, oxidation processes, disinfection methods such as UV application, instrumental analysis, analytical chemistry, and treatability studies utilizing bench pilot testing.
