Biography

Shilpa Murthy is an Assistant Professor in Surgery at Yale University, specializing in Colorectal Surgery. Murthy has worked as an attending general surgeon for the Navajo Nation in New Mexico, addressing local disparities in surgical care. In addition, she has contributed to the World Health Organization’s Cancer Division and has published research on global cancer surgery. Her clinical practice at the West Haven Veterans Affairs Hospital centers on general colorectal surgery and improving cancer care for veterans and vulnerable populations.
