Biography

Shin Hwei Tan joined Concordia University as an Associate Professor and holds the Gina Cody Research Chair position in Software Engineering. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) from June 2018 to 2023. He completed his PhD in March 2018 at the National University of Singapore and received both his BS and MS degrees from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is recognized for his contributions in the fields of Automated Program Repair, Software Testing, and Open-source Software Development, and has received prestigious awards including the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship. Tan is also an Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology and a member of the CCF Open-source Development Committee.
