Biography

Shireen Hashmat, MD specializes in treating children's kidney diseases, including Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Dialysis, Kidney transplantation, Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), Neonatal pediatric hypertension, Nephrotic syndrome, and Acute Chronic Glomerulonephritis electrolyte abnormalities. She completed her Pediatric Nephrology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2015 and her Pediatric residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. She earned her MD from DOW Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2005. Dr. Hashmat received the Junior Faculty Research Award from the University of Chicago in 2019 and the Pediatric Fellow Research Award from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2015.
