Professor Dr. Shirin Ghatrehsamani

Biography

Shirin Ghatrehsamani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Penn State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Florida in December 2019, where she also completed her M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2018. Prior to her doctoral studies, she obtained her M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from Shiraz University in Iran and her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering of Agricultural Machinery from Shahrekord University, also in Iran. Her research focuses on Machinery Design, Mechatronics, Robotics, Precision and Digital Agriculture, UAV applications in agriculture, Remote Sensing, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Artificial Intelligence applications in agricultural systems. Dr. Ghatrehsamani has held various academic positions, including as an Assistant Research Professor at Montana State University and as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Central Missouri. She has contributed as a research assistant in different engineering departments and has practical experience as a Technical Expert in the automotive sector. Dr. Ghatrehsamani is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Agricultural Biological Engineers and the International Society for Precision Agriculture.
