Biography

Shirley Marie Branam received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 1998. After graduation, she joined the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where she held various appointments including hygiene faculty member, staff hygienist in the Dental Faculty Associates, and research coordinator assistant. In 2004, she completed her Master of Business Administration degree in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix. In 2005, she accepted a position in a corporate setting, where her responsibilities included developing continuing education courses and presenting at hygiene schools and universities at national meetings in North America, Europe, and Asia. Her background includes 30 years of clinical and educational experience in the dental assisting and dental hygiene professions. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Hygienists' Association, the American Dental Education Association, and the International Federation of Dental Hygienists.
