Biography

Shivam Mehta is a clinician-scientist and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. He completed his dental education in India and obtained a Master’s degree in Orthodontics in 2015. Following graduation, he worked in private practice for two years before completing a fellowship program in Recent Advances in Orthodontics at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2018. Subsequently, he joined the University of Connecticut where he earned a dual degree/certificate in Master of Dental Science and Orthodontics in 2021. Since then, he has been a full-time faculty member, teaching and sharing his diverse clinical experiences with orthodontic residents. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in orthodontic diagnosis, rapid palatal expansion techniques, and orthodontic tooth movement, including studies on the biological mechanisms underlying these processes. He has received multiple grants and awards recognizing his contributions to the field of orthodontics.
