Dr. Shiyi Ye

Biography

Shiyi Ye serves as an Associate Lecturer in the Translation and Interpreting Program at Macquarie University, specializing in Teaching and Leadership. With over 15 years of experience as a freelance conference interpreter and document translator, he has been actively engaged in the field in Australia since 2008. Throughout his academic career, he has taught various units in translation and interpreting, focusing primarily on the education of conference interpreters. Shiyi holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Interpreter Training from the University of Geneva and a Master of Conference Interpreting from Macquarie University, in addition to his Bachelor of English Language and Literature obtained from Wuhan University. He is also a NAATI Certified Conference Interpreter and Translator, demonstrating his professional qualifications in the field. Shiyi is an active member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) and the Translators Association of China, further showcasing his commitment to professional development in translation and interpreting. His research interests align with the innovative use of technology in interpreter education, particularly through projects aimed at enhancing the skills of future interpreters in a rapidly evolving world.
