Shlomo Dubnov graduated from the Jerusalem Music Academy with a degree in composition and holds a doctorate in computer science from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is a graduate of the prestigious IDF Talpiot program. Prior to joining the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), he served as a researcher at the world-renowned Institute Research Coordination Acoustics Music (IRCAM) in Paris, where he headed the multimedia track in the Department of Communication Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University in Israel. Dr. Dubnov has conducted numerous research projects in advanced audio processing and retrieval, computer-generated music, and multimedia applications. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and currently serves as the Secretary of the IEEE's Technical Committee on Computer Generated Music. Dr. Dubnov is also the Director of the Center for Research in Entertainment and Learning at UCSD's research center, CALIT2, where he teaches in the Music and Interdisciplinary Computing Arts programs.
