Biography

Shohini Kundu is an Assistant Professor at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and holds a courtesy appointment at the UCLA School of Law. She teaches Corporate Finance and her research primarily focuses on key areas such as security design externalities in financial contracts, financial intermediation in macroeconomics, and finance in emerging markets. Kundu obtained a B.A. in Economics with magna cum laude honors alongside minors in Computer Science and Mathematics, followed by an MBA and a PhD in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the BlackRock Applied Research Award and the Qatar Centre Global Banking Finance Young Economist Prize. Kundu has also been a finalist in the European Central Bank’s Young Economists’ Competition and received the Eugene F. Fama Fellowship as well as the Stigler Center Award. She is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and an Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow and has contributed to the World Economic Forum as a Global Shaper trustee and to the Telluride Association.
