Biography

Professor Shouheng Sun received his PhD in Chemistry from Brown University in 1996. Following his graduation, he joined IBM T. J. Watson Research Center as a postdoctoral fellow from 1996 to 1998 and then became a research staff member until 2004. He returned to Brown University in 2005 and has since achieved tenure as an Associate Professor. In 2008, he was promoted to Professor, holding the position of Vernon K. Krieble Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, highlighting his recognition in the field. His teaching encompasses various aspects of Chemistry, including Bioinorganic Chemistry and Nanoscale Materials, focusing on the synthesis and applications of materials at the nanoscale. His research interests include metal chemistry in biological systems, the properties and applications of nanoscale materials, solid-state chemistry, and inorganic materials. Professor Sun's work is pivotal in advancing the understanding of these complex subjects, contributing to both academia and industry.
