Dr. Shounak Set

Biography

Shounak Set teaches at King’s College London in the Defence Studies Department. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK, he specializes in strategic studies, foreign policy analysis, and nuclear outer space issues. He has been recognized for his contributions with the European Commission’s Marie Curie Fellowship and has published extensively in esteemed journals such as the Cambridge Review of International Affairs and Strategic Analysis. His research has garnered international grants and led to media appearances on platforms including the BBC and DW, where he engages with policymakers across the UK, Europe, and India. Shounak received nominations for the King’s Education Award for his innovative teaching methods, particularly in the year-long module '5SSW2062: Statecraft, Warfare, Diplomacy'. He has also contributed to the Professional Military Education at the Joint Services Command & Staff College and the Royal College of Defence Studies.
