Shreya Atrey is an Associate Professor of International Human Rights Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, based at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights. She is also an associate member of the Oxford Human Rights Hub and an Official Fellow and Racial Justice Equality Fellow at Kellogg College. In addition, Shreya serves as a Senior Teaching Fellow at New College. She is the editor of the Human Rights Law Review (OUP). Her monograph, "Intersectional Discrimination" (OUP 2019), was the runner-up for the Peter Birks Book Prize in 2020. This work presents a thorough examination of intersectionality theory in the context of comparative discrimination law and has been cited in significant rulings by the South African Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of India, illustrating its impact on the legal understanding of discrimination based on gender and race.
