Dr. Shruti Gupta

Biography

Dr. Shruti Gupta serves as Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is the Medical Director of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Yale New Haven Health-Greenwich Hospital. Dr. Gupta's expertise encompasses the medical care of premature infants and those with complex medical needs, emphasizing family-centered care practices. She is particularly focused on improving breastfeeding outcomes for preterm infants and helping families transition from NICU to home care. Dr. Gupta believes that understanding a parent's perspective is crucial in providing comprehensive care. She has been actively involved in developing follow-up care programs for families and is passionate about quality improvement initiatives in the NICU. Throughout her career, she has worked on research that investigates how neonatal practices impact breastfeeding outcomes for preterm infants. Dr. Gupta has been recognized with numerous awards, including accolades from Connecticut and New York Magazines for her contributions to pediatric care.
