Dr. Shu Xu

Biography

Shu Xu is a Clinical Associate Professor at the NYU School of Global Public Health, specializing in biostatistics. Xu's research encompasses both applied statistical methods and quantitative methodologies, with a strong focus on developing and evaluating statistical methods for longitudinal data analysis. Xu’s work particularly emphasizes latent growth models, missing data methods, and causal inference models. Throughout their career, Xu has collaborated with researchers in fields such as substance use and family health, advancing the understanding of quantitative methods for public health and social sciences. With research conducted in the Family Translational Research Group at NYU and the Methodology Center at Pennsylvania State University, Xu has contributed significantly to the field. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from East China Normal University and both a Master's and PhD in Quantitative Psychology from the University of California, Davis. Xu's research interests include Biostatistics, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Missing Data Methods, and Mixture Models.
