Biography

Shuaiying Cui is an Associate Professor in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University, specializing in Hematology & Medical Oncology. Dr. Cui earned her PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China and her BS from Anhui University. Her research is focused on the development of novel agents that induce developmental stage-specific gene silencing and reprogramming of hematopoietic stem cells and progenitors through epigenetic mechanisms. These agents are applied in the treatment of hematologic disorders such as sickle cell disease, beta-thalassemia, and acute myeloid leukemia. Dr. Cui is deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEIA) within the academic environment and actively promotes DEIA-related activities through her committee work and mentoring of diverse research students. She has received various awards for her contributions to the field and continues to advance the understanding and treatment of blood disorders through her research initiatives.
