Shubo Li is a PhD candidate in Linguistics at the Australian National University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Linguistics from the Australian National University and has completed part of her Bachelor’s degree at Macquarie University. Her research interests include language documentation and experimental phonetics, with a particular focus on languages from the Pacific and Africa. Currently, Shubo is working on phonetics and phonology of the Nakanamanga language, an Oceanic language spoken in Vanuatu. In her honours research, she investigated the sound system of Kufo, a Kadu language from Sudan. Through her work, Shubo aims to provide insights into the phonetic and phonological structures of under-researched languages.
