Shukla Poddar is a Research Associate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering. He is engaged in an ARENA-funded project focusing on advanced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) modeling. His research primarily investigates the implications of extreme weather events on energy generation, the synergy between wind and solar technology, and modeling future degradation rates of photovoltaic (PV) modules. Shukla completed his PhD at UNSW through the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes, where his research explored the impacts of climate change on PV power production. He has a strong interest in both long-term and short-term energy forecasting, ramp event prediction, and understanding the variability of solar energy resources. In addition to his research, Shukla is passionate about science communication and outreach, participating in the 2024 UNSW STEMM Champions program to support and inspire young girls to pursue careers in STEM fields.
