Biography

Shukry Habib pursued undergraduate Master degrees at Israel's Technion and Tel-Aviv University, respectively. He obtained his Dr. rer. nat from Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich, Germany, and carried out postdoctoral research at Stanford University, California, USA. Currently, he is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine and has been awarded the Sir Henry Dale fellowship from the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society in the UK. His research interests focus on stem cells, specifically their ability to self-renew and give rise to differentiated cells. He investigates both external and internal cues that regulate mammalian stem cell division and cell fate choices, studying these processes using mouse embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells.
