Dr. Shuva Gupta

Biography

Shuva Gupta is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Pennsylvania. His academic focus centers on theory and methodology in statistics, particularly penalized methods, high dimensional data analysis, and nonparametric statistics. He also applies these methods in the statistical analysis of genomic toxicology data. In the classroom, Gupta teaches a variety of courses covering foundational topics in statistics and data science, including regression analysis, probability, and statistical inference. He emphasizes practical applications of statistical thinking in business contexts, ensuring that students gain essential skills that can be applied to real-world problems. In recognition of his dedication to teaching and student success, Gupta received the Wharton Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award in 2021.
