Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Shuying Yang. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Dr. Yang’s research interests focus on exploring the mechanisms of tooth and bone development, bone metabolism mechanotransduction, and gene/stem cell therapy for bone diseases. Her lab has provided significant insights into the regulation of bone remodeling, bone resorption, calcium oscillation, and the signaling pathways involved, including GPCR/G protein/RGS signaling pathways, primary cilia, and IFT80/IFT20 regulation of bone cell behavior and bone cartilage formation. The current research team is characterizing RGS proteins that regulate bone metabolism in the aging skeleton. Moreover, studies aim to discover how ciliary IFT proteins associated with primary cilia affect tooth development and fracture healing related to bone diseases, leading to the identification of novel regulatory cascades controlling fundamental processes of bone development and remodeling as well as new therapeutic advances for bone diseases.
