Biography

Shyh-Dar Li is a Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from National Taiwan University in 1998 and went on to receive his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. After completing his postdoctoral training at Moores Cancer Center, University of California, San Diego in 2009, he was appointed as the Tong Louie Chair Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Li has received numerous prestigious awards, including the AFPC New Investigator Award in 2014, the AAPS New Investigator Award in 2013, as well as several others recognizing his contributions to research in the field of Nanomedicine and drug delivery. His research primarily focuses on developing innovative drug delivery systems that facilitate novel therapies involving biological drugs such as peptides, proteins, antibodies, and nucleic acids. His research program is supported by organizations including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and MITACS.
