Biography

Si Brask Sonne is a PhD research consultant specializing in Nutritional Immunology at the University of Copenhagen. He began his academic journey in 1998, studying Biochemistry and Human Biology, completing his PhD at Rigshospitalet in 2008. His research encompasses diverse topics such as endocrine disruptors, testicular cancer, diet-induced obesity, gut microbiota, and cervical cancer. Currently, Si is working on gut barrier dysfunction and has a strong passion for the technical aspects of molecular biology, particularly in optimizing and implementing new techniques. He has experience in cell culturing, mass spectrometry, immunohistochemistry, histological stains, laser capture microdissection, microarrays, next-generation sequencing, and various PCR techniques. Si has been part of Benjamin Jensen's research group since 2023 and enjoys a dynamic and international academic atmosphere. Outside of work, he spends time in his garden and engages in activities with his children, cheering at soccer tournaments, bicycle races, and playing board games.
