Dr. Sibimol Luke

Biography

Sibimol Luke is a Research Fellow focusing on Hydrogen Technology Innovations within the UK-HyRES project. His work assesses economic opportunities for hydrogen technologies and develops a system perspective for future low-carbon technology needs. As a renewable energy professional, he has diverse experience spanning both academia and industry. His PhD thesis involved developing antimony-based robust electrocatalysts for low-pH water oxidation, showcasing a comprehensive study of metal oxides as low-cost alternatives to precious metals while demonstrating new strategies in physiochemical engineering to enhance electrocatalytic performance and stability. Sibimol played a significant role in establishing the PHDCCI Centre of Excellence in Green Hydrogen for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in India, focusing on building knowledge and capacity along the hydrogen value chain. He is actively involved in organizing the International Climate Summit 2023 in New Delhi and has contributed to several environment and sustainability-related conferences and seminars as part of the Environment Committee of the PHD Chamber. Prior to his positions in research, he worked on energy access initiatives in rural India with the SELCO Foundation, where he supported clean energy startups and analyzed the sustainability challenges faced by enterprises driven by various objectives.
