Dr. Sicco Santema

Biography

Sicco Santema is a Professor of Marketing and Supply Management at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology. His academic background includes a PhD in Financial Marketing Tools from Eindhoven University of Technology and MSc degrees in Law and Business Engineering from University of Brabant and Eindhoven University, respectively. Santema is deeply fascinated by the intersection of technology and human progress, particularly within the aviation industry. His research explores the design of passenger journeys and integrates customer and supplier perspectives into the design process. He actively involves students in testing concepts for improving the inflight experience and managing luggage journeys. Santema also connects companies with customers and suppliers to optimize product integration, sharing insights on entrepreneurship and integrated design. He has served as a Professor at various faculties and remains engaged in fostering start-ups and guiding students in their career aspirations. Outside his academic role, he leads his consultancy firm, Scenter, and participates in board roles and various consultancy activities. Santema is married and lives in Zeist, Netherlands, with his four daughters and a dog.
