Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Sichen Shao. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Sichen Shao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the mechanistic basis of protein biosynthesis, regulation, and quality control using biochemical, cell biology, and structural biology techniques. The Shao lab employs various strategies, including biochemically reconstituting protein biosynthesis processes and developing methods to isolate and analyze the individual steps of these processes. Current research interests include ribosome-associated protein quality control pathways and mechanisms that facilitate membrane protein targeting, folding, and assembly in the endoplasmic reticulum. The long-term goal of the lab is to understand the molecular details of fundamental cellular processes that maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent disease.
