Biography

Siddhartha Jaiswal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at Stanford University. His laboratory focuses on understanding the biology of aging and the hematopoietic system. As a post-doctoral fellow, he identified a common pre-malignant state in blood cancers characterized by a condition known as 'clonal hematopoiesis', which is prevalent in the aging population and increases the risk of blood cancer as well as cardiovascular diseases. His studies utilize genetic and clinical information from large population-based cohorts to explore the impact of clonal hematopoiesis on human health. His clinical interests include transfusion medicine, genomics, and molecular pathology.
