Biography

Sidi Chen joined the Yale Faculty in 2015 in the Department of Genetics, Systems Biology Institute, and Yale Cancer Center. His research focuses on providing a global understanding of biological systems to develop novel breakthrough therapeutics. He has developed and applied genome editing and high-throughput screening technologies, including precision CRISPR-based in vivo models for cancer. Chen's lab continuously invents versatile systems that enable the rapid identification of novel targets for the development of new modalities such as cancer immunotherapy, cell therapy, and gene therapy. The goal is to uncover novel insights into cancer and immunological diseases to advance therapeutic generations. Over the years, Dr. Chen has received numerous national and international awards, including the Pershing Square Sohn Prize and the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, among others.
