Biography

Sig Mosley is the Managing Partner at Mosley Ventures, a venture fund that invests in early-stage technology startups in the Southeast. Known as 'The Godfather of Angel Investing', a title he earned during his tenure as president of Imlay Investments, Inc. since 1990, Mosley has been a prolific investor in the region, participating in 120 startups and 82 liquidity events. He holds the record for the largest Southeast venture deal, which was the $5.7 billion acquisition of Tradex by Ariba. Mosley's career began as a staff accountant at Peat Marwick & Mitchell in 1968, and he later joined Management Science America, Inc. where he held various positions, ultimately serving as vice president from 1982 to 1991. He is involved with numerous organizations, serving on the board of directors for 16 private companies and being a director of the Imlay Foundation, Techbridge, and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Southeast. Furthermore, he holds advisory roles with ATDC and is involved in the investment committee for Gray Ghost Ventures. In 2007, he was inducted into the Georgia Technology Hall of Fame and has received several accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement award from TiE in 2011 and the 2012 Speaker of the Year award from the Emory Pelham Education Foundation. Mosley earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University in 1968.
