Biography

Sigrid Normann Biener is a PhD fellow in the Section of Social Medicine, Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Copenhagen, which she completed in 2021. Her primary research interest focuses on promoting women's health, with a particular emphasis on social disparities and health inequalities. Biener’s current PhD project explores the effects of menopause on women living in Denmark, focusing on symptoms and quality of life. She is conducting a mixed-methods study that integrates a nationwide questionnaire survey with in-depth qualitative follow-ups, aiming to capture the breadth and nuance of women's experiences during this stage of life. The project is funded by Aase Einar Danielsens Foundation and Absalon Foundation and is supervised by Associate Professors Maria Hybholt and Terese Sara Høj Jørgensen. Before her current role, she worked as a Senior Consultant and Consultant at Ramboll Management Consulting, focusing on social economic impacts.
