Silke Beck's research focuses on the interfaces between science and society, particularly in the field of environmental assessment. She is a pioneer in analyzing the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports and contributes to reforming global assessments for the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Beck previously held a position as Acting Chair of the Department of Environmental Politics at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig.
