Dr. Silke Glas

Biography

Silke Glas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente. She specializes in model reduction and manifolds, leading the MaST group under Hans Zwart. Silke has a background in numerical mathematics and has conducted postdoctoral research at Cornell University under David Bindel, focusing on stellarator optimization. She earned her PhD in numerical mathematics from Ulm University, where she worked with Karsten Urban. Her expertise encompasses mathematics, Hamiltonian systems, manifold theory, embedded manifolds, polynomial systems, linear subspace models, engineering, and multibody dynamics.
