Dr. Silvia Barcellos

Biography

Silvia Barcellos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She holds a PhD and specializes in the field of population health, contributing significantly to research in health disparities, social determinants of health, and public health policy. Her work combines analysis of health data with assessments of policy impact to derive evidence-based solutions for pressing health issues faced by populations. She has been instrumental in developing courses related to public health impact assessment and health policy in academia, engaging students in critical discussions around public health challenges. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Barcellos is actively involved in various research projects that aim to improve health outcomes through innovative partnerships and community engagement.
