Biography

Silvia Bonaccio earned her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Purdue University and holds an M.Sc. from Concordia University's John Molson School of Business, along with a B.A. in Psychology from McGill University. She is a Full Professor and Vice-Dean (Research) at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, where she is also cross-appointed to the School of Psychology. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Work and Health in Toronto. Bonaccio is recognized for her significant contributions to teaching and research, receiving the Excellence in Education Prize from the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on the influence of anxiety and emotions on personnel assessment and selection processes, as well as facilitators of positive work experiences for employees with disabilities. Bonaccio has published extensively in leading journals and has been involved in various funded research projects addressing significant workplace issues. Her work has been featured in major media outlets, demonstrating her impact on both academia and public awareness of occupational health and safety.
