Dr. Silvia Massini

Biography

Silvia Massini is a Professor at the University of Manchester, specializing in Economic Management Innovation. She served as Head of the Innovation Management Policy Division at the Alliance Manchester Business School from 2017 to 2022 and was previously the Associate Head of Research in the same division. Silvia has held various prestigious roles including Director of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research and has contributed to numerous committees and editorial boards. Her academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Economics from La Sapienza University, Rome, and an MSc in Economics from Warwick University. Massini’s research focuses on the emergence, adoption, and diffusion of digital technologies, their impact on innovation processes, and the skills required for changing industry needs. She currently teaches courses on New Product Development and Innovation and supervises MSc and PhD dissertations in innovation management. Silvia is actively involved in various professional bodies and has served as a Senior Editor for Management Organization Review. She has also published extensively on topics related to innovation and economic development.
