Biography

Sima Alidokht received her Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, focusing on cold spray tribology composite coatings in 2018. Her main research interests include the design and development of tribo-corrosion resistant coatings, processing and characterization of multi-principal element alloys, smart materials-based protective coatings, erosion-resistant coatings for space applications, and duplex surface engineering. In 2018, she joined the Department of Materials Engineering at McGill University as a Research Associate, where her work involved repairing titanium components using cold spray additive manufacturing and developing multi-layered coatings through thermal spray processes and physical vapor deposition. Additionally, she has experience as a Sessional Lecturer at McGill University, where she taught materials properties for electrical engineering courses. Alidokht has contributed to more than 65 journal and conference publications in the field of Surface Engineering Coatings. She has received various honors including the Horace Young Fellowship Award and the Graduate Excellence Fellowships at McGill University from 2014 to 2016.
