Biography

Professor Siming You is a faculty member at the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow. He has been part of the School since December 2017, having progressed from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer in August 2022. Before joining, he was a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore's Environmental Research Institute from 2015 to 2017, and also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Nanyang Technological University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014 and 2015, respectively. He holds a Ph.D. in Thermo-fluids from Nanyang Technological University, awarded in October 2014, and a Bachelor’s degree from Beihang University completed in July 2008. His research focuses on the development of efficient low-carbon energy and environmental systems, particularly through process integration and optimisation, with a strong emphasis on sustainable waste management and wastewater treatment. He has extensive experience in evaluating the techno-economic feasibility and environmental impacts of sustainable systems utilizing various methods, including cost-benefit analysis and life cycle assessment. He has published numerous articles and serves on the editorial boards of several prominent journals.
