Biography

Simon Armour is a Senior Lecturer specializing in Software Radio at the University of Bristol. He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Bath. His research interests span a variety of techniques in wireless communications, originally specializing in Physical Layer work and Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM). He has actively applied his research to specific standards such as 802.11 (WiFi), 802.16 (WiMax), and Long-Term Evolution (LTE), focusing on core theoretical work. Simon has been involved in various research projects, including the Secure Wireless Agile Networks (SWAN) EPSRC Prosperity Partnership, where he served as a Co-Investigator. He has also contributed to the Seamless Adaptive Wireless Access Efficient Future Networks (SERAN) project and the EPSRC/VCE Strategic Partnership for Green Radio.
