Simon Bacon is a behavioral scientist focused on understanding individuals and developing tailored interventions to positively change high-risk behaviors. His interventions target health-related outcomes such as physical activity, diet, weight management, and medication adherence, aiming to reduce the development and progression of chronic diseases including obesity, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory disease. His work is multidisciplinary and intersectoral, requiring engagement with various collaborators and partners, employing a mix of methodologies like epidemiological, psychophysiological, evidence synthesis, qualitative, and behavioral trial designs. Currently, he is the FRQS co-Chair in Artificial Intelligence Digital Health and Health Behaviour Change, as well as the CIHR SPOR Chair for Innovative, Patient-Oriented, Behavioural Clinical Trials. Besides his role at Concordia University, he is the co-director of the Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre, a researcher at the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Nord-de-l'Île-de-Montréal, and co-leads the International Behavioural Trials Network and the CIHR funded Canadian Behavioural Interventions Trials Network.
