Biography

Simon Cleary is a lung biologist with research interests focusing on pulmonary lymphatic vessel diseases driven by antibodies and the complement cascade. He is broadly interested in the preclinical development of therapeutics for diseases affecting the lungs. Simon previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Babraham Institute and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), in Mark Looney's laboratory. There, he identified the driver mechanisms of acute lung injury and developed innovative imaging approaches for studying the lungs. He has been awarded research support from the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies and the American Society of Transplantation. In 2024, he was appointed as a Lecturer at King's College London.
