Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Simon Foster. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Simon Foster is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Monash University, specializing in molecular pharmacology and cardiovascular physiology with a focus on cell signaling and G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) biology. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Melbourne and a PhD from the University of Queensland, where he investigated odorant and taste receptors in cardiac function. Foster was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen from June 2015 to July 2018, where he discovered novel peptide ligands for orphan receptors. Upon returning to Australia in 2018, he joined the Cardiac Bioengineering Group at QIMR Berghofer, focusing on the signaling pathways underlying cardiac fibrosis through the use of stem-cell-derived human cardiac organoids. His work is highly collaborative and is currently funded by an NHMRC Ideas Grant, enabling exploration of chemokine receptor signaling and its therapeutic implications for inflammatory diseases.
