Biography

Professor Gaisford is the Vice-Dean for Impact & External Engagement at the Faculty of Life Sciences, holding a Chair in Pharmaceutics. He has been a part of University College London (UCL) School of Pharmacy since 2003, previously serving as a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Huddersfield. He undertook his PhD at the University of Kent at Canterbury, where he was mentored by Professor AE Beezer. Gaisford has also held Postdoctoral Research Assistant positions at UCL School of Pharmacy, working with Professors DQM Craig and G Buckton. He has published 240 papers, boasts an h-index of 81, and has over 26,000 citations, being recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate in multiple years. He leads the educational YouTube channel 'Pharma Drama,' earning over 50,000 subscribers, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Gaisford is involved in several committees, including the Faculty Technology Group and the Faculty Outreach Committee. Externally, he serves as an External Examiner at Birkbeck and is an Editorial Board Member for journals in Pharmaceutics.
