Biography

Simon Gilson is the Agnelli-Serena Professor of Italian at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Magdalen College. He completed his PhD in Italian Literature at Cambridge University after studying Italian and French at Leeds University. His editorial work includes serving as joint Senior Editor of Italian Studies and contributing to multiple academic publications. Additionally, Gilson has been elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2022, acknowledging his contributions to the field of Italian studies.
