Simon Goodwin is Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. He completed an MMath at the University of Oxford in 2001 and a PhD at Birmingham in 2004. He held a postdoctoral position at the University of Aarhus and a Junior Research Fellowship at Oxford before returning to Birmingham as a Research Fellow in 2006. His EPSRC-supported research concerns representation theory and Lie theory, including modular Lie algebras, Lie superalgebras and W-algebras.
