Simon Jäger is an Associate Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and the School of Public and International Affairs. He is also a member of Princeton's Industrial Relations Section and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Jäger's research primarily focuses on labor markets and the origins and consequences of inequality. Prior to joining Princeton, he served as an Associate Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, where his dissertation was awarded the W.E. Upjohn Institute Employment Research Prize and Harvard's David Wells Prize for Dissertation in Economics. Jäger has also received the Sloan Research Fellowship and the Gustav Stolper Award from the German Economic Association.
