Biography

Professor Simon Kennedy joined the University of Glasgow in 2006, initially working within the School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health and later within the School of Life Sciences. As part of his research and teaching role, he transitioned into a teaching-focussed position, collaborating with colleagues from SCMH, the College of Science and Engineering, and external partners. He is responsible for coordinating Level 4 Pharmacology degree final-year options and teaches practical skills to undergraduate students, supported by a teaching grant from the British Pharmacological Society. Professor Kennedy serves as a Senior Senate Assessor for Student Conduct and is involved in several university committees. He is actively engaged with the British Pharmacological Society and has served on various editorial boards and committees. His research interests include the effects of perivascular adipose tissue on vascular function and the role of specific enzymes in modulating vascular responses. He supervises numerous PhD students and teaches various levels of undergraduate courses in physiology and pharmacology.
