Biography

Simon Lord has been the director of the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit at the Department of Oncology since 2021. He underwent medical oncology training in Leeds before moving to Oxford to pursue a DPhil with a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellowship. He was appointed as a Senior Clinical Researcher in Experimental Cancer Therapeutics at the Department of Oncology in 2015 and is a consultant medical oncologist at the Oxford Cancer Centre. Additionally, he serves as a Senior Research Fellow at Oriel College and leads the Precision Cancer Medicine MSc module at the University of Oxford. In 2021, he became the Foundation Programme Academic Lead at the Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School. Dr. Lord is the chief principal investigator for various clinical trials, focusing on human drug development and novel imaging studies.
